Pattyn begins to realize that this isn't punishment, this is freedom. In that summer Pattyn realizes whats important in life and what truly matters.
Opinion
This is truly a depressing book. Pattyn father is truly disturbing; he doesn't let her date at all let alone be friends with guys. Her mother is just as terrible she never defends Pattyn at all just lets him rule her life. After I finished this book I appreciated my parents a lot more. The character development in Burned was truly fantastic. The relationship between Ethan and Pattyn was too cute. In the end Ethan literally became a hero for Pattyn trying to save her from the hell at home. Pattyn aunt was just a brilliant. It just shocking that Pattyn felt more love with her aunt in a hour, than her ever feeling that way with her own father. The book is great with Pattyn finding herself and also falling in love with Ethan it’s just the ending in one of the top five saddest endings I've ever read. The book left me in tears. If you are a fan of Ellen Hopkin I would definitely recommend this book. I personally liked it more than Crank because it’s a character that has done no wrong like drugs, all she was asking for was to be a normal teenager, but that was too much to ask for from her parents.

This is probably one of my favorite books of all time. The plot and character development is amazing <3 Plus Ethan is a babeee!
